Bethany & Rene | Houston, TX Engagement Session

I'm going to go ahead and say it. Thank goodness Bethany and Rene are both snake people! Not even 2 minutes into their session did they find a snake in the path I had them walking down. I didn't know what was happening at first, but Rene was watching something and then followed it into the bushes. They both had stopped with their romantic walk and proceeded to check out the snake. Naturally, I freaked out from a good distance of 50 feet (and that distance kept growing and growing!). It turned out to be a copperhead, and I'd guess it to be about 3 feet in length? I know I made a fool, but snakes are one of the things in life I'm most fearful of. I can't trust those slithery bodies and their beady little eyes. I mean, I have nightmares with snakes in them! Joel reassured me that snakes are more afraid of us, but I don't know about that...I think it's a close call. Needless to say, I won't be visiting this park for a while.

Brooke & Max | Kingwood, TX Engagement

There was so much fog the morning of Brooke and Max's shoot, that we couldn't even see the dock from the parking lot. I had even messaged Brooke to see if we should move the session back a half hour or so to let the fog clear a bit. It was THAT HEAVY. Our area had been having tons of heavy fog lately, so it wasn't a surprise it was present for the shoot. However, I LOVED shooting in it!!

Carrie & John | Houston, TX Engagement Photographer

I know planning a wedding can be hard, but doing it from half way across the country!? That's a whole 'nother set of challenges! Which is exactly what Carrie and John did. They currently live in Pennsylvania but have lots of family here in Houston that they came to visit for the holidays. They planned their wedding to happen just days after we all celebrated Christmas! We met up for their engagement session in Kingwood so we could hang out for a bit before the weekend. I always love meeting my couples for these sessions; such a great way to get to know them in a relaxed atmosphere :)

Sam & Amy | Houston, TX Engagement Photographer

Interwebs, meet Sam and Amy! They got engaged abroad while on a trip with Amy's family, which I just loved to hear! They are both in medicine, and met in the operating room! When they told me that, I immediately envisioned a scene from Scrubs. They are getting married in March and I simply cannot wait! Now that's it's 2013, I know the time is just going to fly!
