I keep meeting awesome couples who are "completely living the dream" according to my book, and Jon and Jabel are definitely one of those couples. They live within a short bike ride of downtown Houston (I'm talking short...it's right there!) and completely enjoy the perks of city-living; the art and culture, the amazing eateries, and just being close to EVERYTHING. They are 2 fashion driven creatives who thrive on great art, great food, and great love. And oh my gosh I love them. L-O-V-E puffy heart love them :)

Directly after their ceremony, right outside Perkins Chapel, Nick kisses Amy and whispers, "I'm no longer kissing my girlfriend or fiance, I'm kissing my wife!" The excitement I witnessed in these two, and everyone surrounding them on Saturday, was off the charts! I could just feel it in the air and it was INCREDIBLE.

First of all, during their session I started to get major hair envy...and I still have it. Jessica's hair is just perrrrfect and magical and I want it :) Maybe I'm itching for a chop with some style, who knows. But gosh, look at her! Perfect perfect hair to go with her playful personality.

Elyana & Troy | Houston, TX Engagement

Before we started Elyana and Troy's engagement session, we met up for frozen yogurt first, which, if you ask me, is a cheery way to start any session :) I love these sessions so much because it gives me a chance to get to know my couples on a personal level and interact with them face to face before the wedding, rather than just phone and email. It just makes the wedding day seem like old friends reunitiing! Total win :)

These two are living the dream. They met in 2010 at a John Mayer/Owl City concert in The Woodlands, and he asked her out on a date right then and there. They've been together ever since, and just moved to New York City late last year for Chris' job in the Financial District. They call one of NYC's high rise apartments home, and I'm so jealous! I've always dreeeeamed of living in the city like that, with everything within walking distance. You don't even need a car! So much to do and explore, my heart just explodes at the thought of it!

Last blog post touched on my fear of snakes...this one? My fear of being stuck in an elevator and it DROPPING. (Looks like I'm facing all sorts of fears lately!) We were riding up to their honeymoon suite to take the above photo, when all of a sudden the elevator gets stuck on floor 11. Only one floor short of our destination! Oh boy. Thank the Good Lord I was stuck in that elevator with Amy and Sam! They are both trained in elevator safety, and Amy is the only person that has actually saved someone's life that should have died in elevator accident. Like I said, I'm still thanking my lucky stars I was with them during that particular event. Fwhew!

Bethany & Rene | Houston, TX Engagement Session

I'm going to go ahead and say it. Thank goodness Bethany and Rene are both snake people! Not even 2 minutes into their session did they find a snake in the path I had them walking down. I didn't know what was happening at first, but Rene was watching something and then followed it into the bushes. They both had stopped with their romantic walk and proceeded to check out the snake. Naturally, I freaked out from a good distance of 50 feet (and that distance kept growing and growing!). It turned out to be a copperhead, and I'd guess it to be about 3 feet in length? I know I made a fool, but snakes are one of the things in life I'm most fearful of. I can't trust those slithery bodies and their beady little eyes. I mean, I have nightmares with snakes in them! Joel reassured me that snakes are more afraid of us, but I don't know about that...I think it's a close call. Needless to say, I won't be visiting this park for a while.

The Hennigs | Just Because

World Wide Web, meet the Hennigs. Savannah and Garrison :) They packed up their car, along with their two fur babies (Bucky and Delilah), and headed to Kingwood to meet up for a casual photo session with me. They've been married just over 4 years and wanted to simply celebrate where they are in life and their loving marriage thus far. Savannah is also a fabulous photographer based in Saledo, TX, and I've known this peach since our college days at ACU :)

Brooke and Max's wedding day, was definitely one to remember! She implemented so many sweet, meaningful details, and made extra time in the schedule for everything that was important to them. Photos are a big deal to Brooke, as she's a photographer herself, so needless to say, I was in hog heaven :) She even did a first look not only with her groom, but another with her dad. Way to make the father-of-the-bride feel extra special on your wedding day, Brooke :)
