A couple weeks ago, I drove over to Oak Grove, VA for Ashley and Carlin's engagement session! This is the place Carlin grew up, and they plan on continuing to live here after they tie the knot this October. They are getting married at Ingleside Winery and I can't wait! Big juicy grapes should be on the vine by then :) WOOO!!
...Or at least I haven't seen them there. When I was leaving a session a couple weeks ago, I couldn't resist these poppies!!! They were just sitting there waiting for me to come over and shoot them! Seriously. That's how it went down. The median on the highway was completely covered in this gorgeous sea of red poppies...would you be able to resist?! Only thing that would have made this little trip into the middle of the road would have been if Joel were there with me :) Mushy, I know, but I just love sharing little moments like these with him!!
So to my Texan blog readers...have you seen anything like this in Texas?! Masses of poppies just there for the taking?! Well, probably not taking....I'm sure there's some sort of law against that.
I'm really loving Virginia right about now :) ahhh. God bless it :)
Here it is folks! The last installment of the Leesburg, VA style shoot. Meet Christine. She modeled as the modern vintage bride for the shoot. Honestly, I could have shot her all day long! I loved her look, style, poses,...and the lighting was to DIE for!
Future brides: If you're up for it, bold, unique jewelry during your bridals, or even part of them, can really spice up the photos! Also, having your makeup done by a makeup artist makes a world of difference. Trust me. Plus, who doesn't like getting their makeup done?! Anyone?! K, thought so :)
It's pretty simple...hire a makeup artist, grab some bold jewelry in your wedding colors (check out Etsy or Charming Charlie's), bring a prop or 2 if you've like...and voila! Gorgeous and unique bridals.
Alright, here's part 2 of the shoot! Annie and Jay were our fabulous bride and groom models for the afternoon :) I spent most of my time at their station and one other station for the afternoon...what can I say?! They were great to work with! The last installment of this style shoot will be up soon :)
Sunday afternoon, another fellow photog and friend (Nancy!) told me about a style shoot up in Leesburg the very next day. I hopped on that train quick! I called up Lindsey, the one organizing the whole thing, to see if there was still space, and sure enough there was! Yay!
