his day was deemed the PERFECT spring day in my eyes. It was the day after a big rain (Liz and Daniel's rain!), the sun was out, there was a cool breeze, and everything was in bloom. I can't think of a better day. Oh wait, yes I can...have a wedding on that day! And Katy and Jonathan did just that :)
This wedding was beautiful to say the least and full of so much eye candy! Katy's details were amazing! My favorite?! Her brooch bouquet!! She had been collecting pieces for her bouquet for quite a while, and some of the brooches were passed down within the family. How special is that?! If I could do it all over again, I'd probably have to have one :) Anyways, she also had a great guest book. It was a big tree where all the guests put their thumbprint on the tree and signed it. Katy and Jonathan can now hang it in their home...instant wedding artwork! LOOVE IT! And one more thing that I can't go on without mentioning...the BEST MAN BADGE! Shortly after Joel and I arrived to the venue, I noticed from across the room a symbol I recognized pinned to one of the groomsmen...I got a little closer, and sure enough it was the badge from You, Me, and Dupree!! HAH! The perfect touch for the best man! It should be a requirement of all best men to wear at weddings :) So funny.
Katy and Jonathan got married at Molon Lave Vineyard in Warrenton, VA, where both the ceremony and reception were held. I have to say, I completely adored this venue! Setting: gorgeous, Staff: charming and so helpful! Reception hall: light and airy....a photographer's dream. It was solid white and accented with uplighting for their event.
So without further adieu, feast your eyes on this lovely wedding day! Congratulations Katy and Jonathan! Hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in St. Martin's!

Oh, hello gorgeous!

Love this next shoe shot. Thanks, Joel!

Since the wedding was at a vineyard, and the grapes weren't in season on the vines...I improvised. Thank you, cocktail hour hor d'oevres :)

I couldn't get over her bouquet! I took WAAAAY too many shots of it! Who wouldn't!? It's AMAZING!!

The perfect spring day.

Love Jonathan watching his bride dance with her dad :) Ahh, love.

And now, for my favorite part of the day...the portraits! Since Katy and Jonathan had a noon ceremony with the reception ending at 5pm, we opted to do their portraits after everyone left with the warm evening light. Before Joel and I arrived to the wedding in the morning, we scouted out the area to see if there was anything spectacular nearby we could use...and there was!! Hello yellow field!! mmmmm, I was a bit obsessed with it. Let me tell you, I thought about it all day during the wedding!...That afterwards, we'd be getting to shoot THERE!! YES!! But first...we shot a few at the venue on the patio :) Take a look!

Here we go!
