igh school was a lot of colorful bling for me...including this ring. I'm hoping that all this fun jewelry I've collected over the years can be handed down one day like my mom did for me. I remember I was in the 3rd grade when she passed down her high school jewelry collection to me...it included lots of smiley faces, neon colors, and even a couple peace signs! hah! It was such a special day to me! But anyways, that's not where I'm going with this post...
Back in the fall, I shot a portrait session with a local high schooler who had the coolest kicke-around shoes I've seen! They were bright, colorful, and creative. And they were TOMS. She had designed and executed the artwork on her shoes and I just adored them! I knew I had to have a pair for myself. So in comes Maren. We met at the Hyperion one day for coffee where she showed me all her sharpie colors, and doodle ideas for the shoes. When selecting colors, I gravitated towards the ones in that ring without even realizing it. Then I thought more about the ring, and eventually, it became the inspiration for the design of these shoes! Maren did such an AMAZING job with these! I'm so impressed! She even included a little camera on the heel of one of the shoes!
I. LOVE. MY. TOMS.
Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with me, Maren! I just want you to know, these are my new favorite shoes! :)
And here's the artist! Remember Maren?! Check out her shoes that started it all! As soon as I met her, I noticed her cute yellow cardigan and her amazingly creative shoes! And now I have my own pair! THANK YOU, MAREN!! :)
