Oh sweet, sweet weekend getaway. You make me smile.
Last weekend, Joel and I took and extended weekend vacation to Nellysford, VA. We stayed at the spectacular Mark Addy Inn with the best innkeepers! Leslie and Rafie really made it feel like home the entire time we were there. It was fantastic to have the home setting for the duration of the trip, rather than a stuffy hotel. Their daughter, Jennie is getting married there in August and I just can't wait to go back!
The Bed and Breakfast was everything I imagined...and then some :) The breakfast was phenomenal every morning!! My goodness, I'm convinced that's the best way to start any day. A delicious breakfast, mmmmm :) Since Joel and I arrived early, we got to take the full tour of the place. It was so beautiful! So much character and little details everywhere. I was in heaven :) I miss that place already :)
And future brides, I'd highly recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a venue :) It's got so many great details, lots of places for fantastic photos, and amazing hosts,...very inspiring if you ask me!
Over the course of the weekend, Joel and I napped, went to a nursery (twice, on the ride home I had to stop in to grab a little succulent!), ate the best strawberries fresh off the farm either of us had ever had, went to a few wineries for some tasting (mmmm!!!), napped some more, watched some Buffy (go figure), went to the local farmer's market, watched The Abyss, and of course to top the weekend off....we went to our very first TRACTOR PULL!! We both were curious to see what all the fuss was about, plus it seemed like the best entertainment for our Saturday night in Nellysford!
All in all, the weekend couldn't have been more perfect or more relaxing. It was nice to be away from work for a while :) We can't wait to go back there soon :) Anyways, here are a few glimpses of our weekend in the mountains. Enjoy!

Thanks for the great stay at the Mark Addy, Leslie and Rafie! Look forward to seeing you again in August!

LOVE the room!!! Looks like so much fun!!!
Korie - your pictures are AMAZING! I've never seen the Inn through this lens - I can't wait to see what you do when we're all there for the wedding. My parents really enjoyed having you and I cannot believe you got a picture of my dad - and smiling, too!
See you soon!

What beautiful pictures you took of a casual weekend you and your hubby took. I can only imagine what your formal wedding pictures look like! I am thrilled to say that my daughter just called my husband and I this morning and had us put the cell phone of Speaker Phone, to tell us that her boyfriend of 2 1/2 years had just proposed to her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is our only child and she just graduated from High Point University (NC) in May with her BS in Interior Design. He is in the Army, stationed in Alaska, and he is home right now for 2 weeks vacation, and they are down in Boone, NC renting their favorite log cabin for a week. I can't wait for them to come back on Monday, so I can give them both BIG hugs of congratulations!! Too bad we live in Maryland and she will be getting married up here, or we would definitely look into your photography. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait for my hubby and I to spend a weekend at the Mark Addy Inn.
I just booked a room in July and peeked in on your blog. Fantastic photos. You have a great eye. Can't wait for our visit especially since seeing your pictures! We are also staying in Le Jardin!
Nice post! The photo of the room surprised me! I would like to have my room like that room!
